Conservation Today, a student-run news website, is organising an event in London on the 20^th of June (The Open Ground), bringing conservationists, writers and social scientists together to explore new avenues for saving the planet! Famous faces attending include John Fa (Director of the world-famous Durrell Wildlife Trust), Armand Leroi (BBC presenter and Professor at Imperial College London) and Ruth Padel, prize-winning author of ‘Darwin: a life in poems’.

There are three sections to the day, looking at conservation prioritisation, conceptions of nature, and the future of conservation as a discipline. Each section will have three speakers, who will give short presentations and then take part in open panel discussions, giving everyone there a chance to shape the flow of the day. The Royal Society of the Arts are also displaying winners from their recent ‘Respond’ competition, which there will be time to view.
