Our Climate Not for Sale - Barcelona

Barcelona. November 4. At 10 am, 70 activists of the "Climate is not for sale" (El Clima no està en Venda) blocked the exit gates of the building where the UN Conference on Climate Change is being held, and reported that "without countries of the industrialized North assuming a drastic and made mandatory reduction in their own CO2 emissions, there is no solution to the climate crisis."

Activists have hung banners against the product and marketing slogans reminding international delegates that "market is the problem, not the solution."

Blocking doors with their own bodies, sang slogans as "we are here, we are staying here if there are no cuts, we are not leaving" and denounced the influence of business lobbies in the negotiations.

The initial tension with the security service of the United Nations did not escalate and activists have been talking to some delegates, including a representative of the Spanish delegation, who spoke on the frustration of the translation administrations from Catalan, Spanish and European and at the same time declared their concern about climate change and the continuing planning for indefinite growth of energy consumption and infrastructure.
